Verso Dead With Either Key

My 06 Verso is stuck on my drive. The keys unlock/lock and she lights-up when I double press the button or tey and start. The only thing that doesn't happen is the engine starting. Not a sausage she doesn#t even turn over. I had an Auto Electrician out today who rebooted the ECU and tested everything like the starter motor - all fine. The only thing he could diagnose is a problem with the immobiliser - a dealer fix.

Is there anything else I can do before I need to drop it off to be poured over at great cost at a dealers?

Any help or sympathy appreciated.
