Looks like the same ugly design as the current Gen 3, although if they removed the constricting flying bridge/cockpit and went back to the more open interior layout of the Gen 2 I would be a little more tempted to replace my current car. :)

As for the external design I'd like to see something a lot more futuristic...

Does not impress me at all. As the blurb says the changes are only minor.

It's not on that link but the rear lights look nicer. Keep a look out for them :)

Looks like we might be getting two rear fogs and two reversing lights at last.

I wonder what the new style 15" alloys are like ?

I like the flying bridge/cockpit style. Its similar to Jaguars styling where the driver has his own area and is seperated by a central console.

As for the futuristic look, the Prius is already far enough away from mainstream shapes to evoke some fairly extreme critisism. That concept car would fair even worse in my opnion. Its just toooo out there!

Most people who have had a look round our Gen 3 Prius like its shape and the interior layout. When I have been outside giving the car a wash passing folk have said what a lovely looking car it is. I have only had one adverse criticism and that was from a VW owner. As for the 2012 model I think it looks pretty good compared to some other car designs.

Oh, I'm not at all surprised that most people would prefer the more conventional interior of the Gen 3. I seem to recall a comment from one Gen 3 owner that they wouldn't have bought a Prius had the styling remained close to the Gen 2. I like the more open layout, I just hope that there will be a choice available when I next come to replace my current car.

Fine until you have to park with the driver's door close to a wall and have to use the passenger's door to get out. Same applies, of course, if you have an accident and end up with a jammed driver's door.

Don't park near a wall so you cannot get out would then seem like the most sensible approach if clambering over the console presents such an issue in the very rare event that it may be necessary.

I have had 3 jags and a Prius all with centre consoles and maybe twice in 15 years has it been necessary to climb into the passenger seat.
