Cone filters directly on the throttle body aren't a great idea on the AE86: you'll have rad hose clearance issues and hot air intake. Better off with a custom pipe and filter at the front of the car or a modded OE airbox with a drop in K&N.

Couldnt of said it better myself!!

I still use a JR air filter but its directly mounted to a 45 degree angle samco hose, which angles it well to miss the coolant hose and also lowers it close to the front panel which has holes pressed out of it for which my cold air feed pipe comes through! I'll post some piccy's 2moro of it!

As for the exhausts i have got a janspeed 4 branch (£180) which i say is nicely made and fits perfectly with its equal lengh pipes!

Even though i do agree with guglielmo about:

Janspeeds are better than stock but the 4-1 design puts all the power up top and you'd gain more overall driveability from a 4-2-1 design.

But that dont both me too much due to im always revving it to its limiter every g/change, so torque is never an issue! Just keep them revs up thats what the 4AGE is designed for! :D

The system i have got is a custom made stainless item! Made by Longlife to my own requirements! I asked for a straight through, twin box 2 1/4" bore system with a 3 1/2" jap style exit(straight! not slash cut) and i asked if they could keep it tucked up well to the floor and make sure it is below 100db, due to that is the most common noise level limit at race circuits etc!

And that they did! They had my car for the day and i picked it up feeling most chuffed about the job they done especially when i put my car on the ramp at work and seen what a good job they done! All that for a bargain of £280, which was cheaper than it was meant to be but they forgot to charge me extra for the tail pipe! Nice one lads! lol! Plus it has got a lifetime guarantee! :) :D

Just had my full set of Whiteline poly bushes, Whiteline front/rear anti-roll bars and Cusco front strut brace fitted.

WOW!

What a difference. These bits have made as much of a change to the handling as the whole suspension system. The car's now so controllable, predictable and rigid under cornering. Four-wheel drifting through roundabouts, tail-out on command... bloomin' marvellous.

I let the boss of Leda take it out for a spin and he was grinning from ear to ear. He's a Lancia fan and reckoned it handled like a Delta Integrale Evo. Think I've convinced him exactly why the AE86 is so well regarded.

So if any of you are contemplating fitting these products, DO IT!

 If anyone wants danco parts, just stick it on here (my private message bord isnt woking), i call to danco regularly as they are goin to rebuild my jap ae86. I could arrange the parts and either bring them to the uk myself or get the lads to send them over, they make other parts like quick shifts aswell. Very good prices aswell especially with the pound against euro.

I have to agree I have the whiteline rear roll bar and for the £70 or so it cost its a wickid piece of kit its even asjustable.

Hmmmm, AE86 and Integrale Evoluzione have similar handling? A somewhat interesting comment, especially from the boss of a suspension tuning company....

Eirecam - A list of parts and prices would be good if you can get it. They do FRP panels as well don't they?

Hello "BanzaiJoe",

Dan and Peter from Team DANCO IRL here.

We can supply adjustable panhard rods, adjustable 4-links (trailing arms) as syampathetic mods for your new AE86 project.

We can also engineer some RCAs to your specifications, however we do not recommend NRCAs as they can slide around given their design.

As EircamAE86 said we also do 30-50% quick shifts depending on what you want.

If you want to go further with suspension mods we can also supply adjustable TCAs. WE also have 20 pedal boxes with Balance Bar adjustment ready for direct replacement into an ae86. Currently they are a part exchange item as were low on spare brake pedals but Im sure we can accomodate you if your interested.

Email me, pjturner@yahoo.com, for more info.

Regards and best of luck  ,

Team DANCO!

Alright mate, ive been through a few different suspension setups (std-Koni adj's etc) and found Billys all round work the best for my drivin style with a set of rally/race springs all from Fensport! It also helps having a set of polybushes to tighten it all up, and uprated anti-roll bars!

You can go really fancy and have adjustable panard rod/ adj 2 1/4 coil overs/ eccentric top mounts etc but it depends what u want it for?! Do you want the ultimate suspension setup just so it sounds good in your spec list, which is fine if you got the dolla! but if your like me on a budget and just want the car to handle well 4 the track the suspension setup i have got is spot on!

Its not too hard so that your jumpin around the place and gettin a real twitchy rear end but its definatly not too soft so that your picking an inside wheel up when tanking it round the track!

As for wheels i dont go any bigger than 14" and no wider than 7" cuz you dont want to be spoiling your nice rust virgin wheel arches!

In the dry i use 7x14 supra rims with AO32's and in the wet i use 6x14 std wheels with A539's. Some people may disagree and say that they have better grip/handling with bigger wider rims etc which maybe true, but i dont want to take away the most fun part of drivin an AE86 and thats goin sideways! hope ive been a little helpful and not too bigheaded!

what spring rates are you running, and what part number are your bilsteins??

they're not common here in canada, but i'm more than interested in running them.

any assistance would be appreciated. anyone else who knows what he was running, please feel free to chime in!!

are they ae86 specific, or for another application?? are they tc, hd or sport shocks?? HELLP :S
