Now this is getting strange. My 3SGE is a Rev 3 so that would explain why it looks the same. However, I am concerned by the fact that the 3S-FE apparently looks the same. I think you need a chasis number or something to identify the engine. The only other way I can think of is to remove the cover over the timing belt. If you see two cogs at the top of the engine, it's a 3S-GE since each cam is driven from a separate gear, and on the 3S-FE they're both driven from the same gear.

The 3sfe look entirly different, its tiny for one thing, its looks like a sewing machine is powing the car....

There is no strut bace with this engine either - and i believe it only came with a sunroof option not a T-bar.

Nice one Matt, I think that settles it once and for all. THe 3S-FE might have gone through a revision change, but TBH I can't see how the engines could look the same when the are quite different i.e. single cam gear etc.

The only other possibility is that the two cars with the 3S-FE engines have had transplants too, but two? I think it's unlikely!

Sorry mate, I wasn't trying to put anyone down, just trying to clear up some questions..... The good news for you though is you'll spend less on petrol that anyone else, so get saving and we'll take about sticking a proper engine in her!!!

I don't usually kick a guy when he's down, but i've had bad experiences with the 3sfe and I guess i'm just taking the anger out here - sorry.

Matt.
