What is more important, 0 to 60 or MPG these days? When choosing a new car what do you look for first?

The least amount of tax I can give the government, so I guess for me it's MPG and emissions.

Why not have both?

My GT4 does 0-60 in the lower half of 4secs and still manages to return over 30mpg. Also my Yamaha does 0-60 in 3.5secs and averages 60mpg :toast:

I read that the new PlugIn Prius will average 135mpg!! :D Now THATS mpg!! lol

I don't think 0-60 time has ever been one of the things I look for when buying a car!

(0-30 and 60-70 times would be far more useful to me tho' :naughty:)

First requirement for me is reliability with any car.

After that it is a compromise between mpg and driveability,I like a nice torquey engine so don't tend to buy smaller than 1.9 turbo diesel.

I would rather pay a little more road tax than drive a car where I have to rev the nuts off it to get anywhere, but I do a fair annual mileage so I guess it also depends on that too.
