Hi all. I have a celica GT4 jap import its 1995 model.

I have just noticed that there is splatters of oil on my air filter.

Could you help me please. How much will it cost. I heard it could be something called a PC valve... Thanks

Hummmm

Oil in the intake is actually normal. But it should be more or an oily mist kinda mark not a dripping splatter mark.

It 'could' be the turbo on the way out but to be honest as long as the dip stick says your are not using oil i would ignore it.

Any oil in the air filter should be minimal. Clean it off and run the car and see how long it takes to return.

Also check the breather pipe from the engine to the inatke isn't blowing or spitting oil.

I have the same thing on mine and it has a new turbo! It will just be oil build up in your breather pipe! Nothing drastic!

Ok thanks. If you dont mind me asking how much did a turbo cost. I had the impression that if it went it would cost 2much n better off saving your money. On a big learning curve with it all at mo.

I got mine from a gt4 breaker for £250 and it's just had turbo technics recon! To repair my old one turbo technics quoted me £399-£600 I nearly passed out :-s and trying to source a cb20b turbo is near impossible and so is getting the parts! The lad I got mine from is on eBay! GT4-BREAKERS he is really honest and cheap! I recommend him to everyone! If you ever need parts pm me and I will send you his contact detail!

As long as you dont run the boost too high and you maintain the car well i wouldnt worry about having a turbo go. Its not really a common thing for the CT26's to die. It usually only happens by running too much boost and not changing the oil regularly enough.

3x ST205's, 1x Supra Twin Turbo and 1x Aristo Twin Turbo - thats 7 Toyota turbos i've owned and never had a failure :)

Come to think about it... i dont think i've ever had a turbo failure on any turbo car i've owned - even my Lotus never gave me any turbo worries

I think I know of a decent CT26 in Wymondham if you do need one.
