Windows Mist Up With Air Con?

Does anyone have the same problem with their celica as I do? When i turn on the air conditioner to 'high' the windscreen mists up really quite badly, after which I need to put in on full blast on the windscreen fan to clear it.

Even after that, it will begin to mist up again after Ive changed the direction on the fan.

is the aircon actually working? Is the air intake on fresh or recirculate?

A couple of my cars have done this and the air con has always been fine. Somethimes it is simply a charateristic of the car

Wee that's weird because one of the things an aircon unit does is remove water from the air so it shouldn't be possible for air from the aircon to mist up!

Well, unless the inside of the car is so damp that it's condensing from the cold of the aircon...?

(Actually that's a point, are your turning the temp to hot when running the aircon?)

Check your boot area for little pools of water. As the rear lights might not be tight enough and letting a little moisture in or the boot seal itself.

I feel that I should clarify..... none of my cars have had a leaking problem so there was never any moisture within the car itself. As I said sometimes this can be a characteristic of the car

So, if the interior of the car remains dry this is something that simply has to be endured. After all, in my experience, the misting up only lasts for a few seconds before the air-con clears it
