Hi Guys,

I'm new here. I recently bought Toyota Avensis 2007 with sat nav TNS700-B9010. Navigation is not that good and not so accurate so I have some options in my mind and not sure which one to go for. Would appreciate your help / suggestions.

Option 1. Update the Maps DVD which is quite old (2007) and not accurate but couldn't find a place to download/get.

Option 2. Get a new Navigation; Any recommended sat navs? i.e. so far I like Pioneer AVIC-X920BT. Will it fit?

Option 3. Not sure about this one but will Samsung Galaxy tab fit in dash?

Here's the picture of how it looks like

Thanks in advance

[Edit] Sorry the topic is confusing; I forgot to change the topic which was my initial question and realized that after posting the question but later couldn't change the topic/heading.

An updated DVD can be purchased from any Toyota dealer or from the Toyota website but be prepared for a shock as they cost around £150.

That's like half the price of a sat nav. I would rather buy a Sat Nav system then. Any idea which one should I go for that can be easily update via usb etc?

Thanks for your reply.

Any of the portable makes such as Tomtom or Garmin can be bought for less than the DVD and can be updated on the web. They also have the speed camera locations which the built in one doesn't.

1- As others mentioned that you can get the update from toyota dealer for about £150 and £40 on some other websites. If you are not happy with the navigation then dont waste money on it.

2- If you like after market units, you can get one, but problem would be getting the wires for steering wheel functions. Is you are not fussy about that, then sell your toyota one (around 300-350 on flebay) and buy pioneer one.

3- Samsung Galaxy tab is 7 inch and will not fit in this one. Also how will you amplify the sound of that when using tabs music player. However you can get car mount and use galaxy tab (3G version) for navigation, music player and dvd player.

Personally I will go for tab, as I will not change the system, and I will have freedom to take my tab away with me where ever I like. Also browsing on the move. The only thing would be, you would need aux in for your TNS700, to connect your tab to TNS 700, or if TNS700 accepts bluetooth streaming, then you should not worry.

Best of luck.
