heloo ..

i need a little help ... i found here somethin` .. but i`m not shure it`s right ... anyway it`s about the automatic gearboxes that are on toyota supra after `90 ..

my question was ... is it true that it has a button that can make the automatic gearbox to have 3 speed`s? like.. in shfting first , second and third gear? i`m dreaming on buying a supra and i have the monney but all the beautifull one`s are automatic... and i`m used to manual.. and i would consider buying an automatic if it can shift mannually from times to times..

thank you ! and sorry if i`m interrupting or messing somthing here!

sorry for my english .. it`s a little bad.. i`m romanian ..

As far as I know, all auto boxes except the CVT ones and MMT have 3 or 4 positions and although are not designed to be used as a manual can be used in that manner although not recommended.

All supra gearboxes are 4 speed (3 actual and 1 overdrive). You can turn the 4th gear on and off with the overdrive button and by pressing the Manu button you can shift up through the gears when ever you want them.

However, there is a delay and the box shifts the gears when it is ready - so nothing like a proper manual.

I would recommend that if you want an manual that you wait for a manual to come along.
