Hi All,

I say new iQ, it's a 59 plate, delivered on Tuesday this week, 4th October. Still getting used to it, obviously. So far have managed to get 52.6mpg, locally, but country roads as we live out in the country. We, that is my wife and I, are also getting used to driving a manual car again, after selling our '99 2.0 Automatic Mondeo. We love the way the iQ is packaged. I mean, such a little car, with 5 bottle holders! Nine airbags! :yahoo:

The mondeo had one, but then, it was a 'T' reg era motor.

Looking forward to looking up stuff and discovering things about our car. So far, we are very impressed with it. Just waiting for the dealer to send the manual -they 'forgot' to put it in the car or with the paperwork, along with the servicing details. I am going to be calling them Monday to see what the delay is.

All in all though, we love the car. We looked at the Smart car first as we wanted the cheapest car to run we could find and afford. £30 tax seemed good, and although I have looked at the iQ before I never thought we would be able to afford one. We then looked at the Yaris, similar running costs as the Smart, but less compromised. Maybe it was all to help me appreciate what is good in such a small package. Due to the poxy taps in our house the hose I have to clean the car with won't fit on the tap. So, I use a watering can without the 'rose' on the end to rinse off grit, leaves, insects... and for the Mondeo this would take two and a half, sometimes three full watering cans. The iQ took one exactly, even rinsing off the wheels. My neighbour suggested a cup full would do the job... How very dare he?

Anyways, I spotted the scratch's and stone chips, so need to get something to make them disappear. Still, it's early days yet. More later elsewhere in here.

 Cheers guys. Like the Corolla. I always thought this model was the better of the Corolla's. Probably because of the rally's and so on. I quite like the Auris too. My favourite Toyota was the V6 Supra of the '80's. I liked the chunky looks and comfy seats and the big tyres... If I were to have a classic Toyota, that may well be it. However, I do like the TRD versions from Australia.
