Evening all

I have a manual 107 (ok I know its not a Aygo....) 58 plate with 70k miles. Its suddenly started making a knocking noise when the clutch is pressed down, and is a little hit and miss changing gear. I've had it from new, and never had any issues with the gearbox before. Any ideas what it could be? It started this evening, so this is my first call for ideas

You will get quotes between £400 to £600 . The three part clutch is about £100 for DIY.

It sounds like a fairly common fault.

Part of the clutch was not designed strongly enough and sometimes breaks.

It will only ever get worse & will not improve.

It sounds like you need a full new 3 piece clutch set as soon as possible.

MAKE SURE you get a new improved enlarged one.

Instead of the old 180mm diameter, 190mm ones are available.

Like my wife says, "Size matters".

(Well, something about mine being old & small or something).

Ian.
