70,000 Service For T-Spirit

Hi all. I'm new to the club. I've searched on the forums but can't seem to find an answer to this question.

I recently bought a 04 T-Spirit in excellent condition, Mint actually but there's no service history or service manual with it.

It has 71,000 on the clock and I know it was due a service at 70K. Can anyone tell me what's due at this service?

Much appreciated.

Kev

Hi mate and welcome,

I'm pretty sure the 70k service is just classed as an intermediate 10k mile service so just oil, filters and inspection. The 80k one will be a full one which includes brake fluid change and fuel filter if it's a diesel.

Regards Pete.

Thanks Pete. It's the petrol. I'm not sure how much it has been serviced in the past, although the condition is excellent, so hopefully they've looked after the servicing as much as they have the rest of the car. Anything else I should have a look at seeing as I don't know the history of it?

You could try asking your local Toyota dealer if there's any maintenance history on the Toyota database, for instance any engine rebuild done due to oil-burning problems etc.

Surprised, as the car's 'mint', that no manuals came with it. I would have thought that most careful owners would pass any paperwork on with the car.

Good idea. I'll try my local Toyota dealer. Irish dealers are notoriously difficult though when it comes to UK cars. They try to make mountains out of molehills just because the car "isn't Irish". I've managed to do all the other parts but I'm struggling to find the oil filter. I've been told that it's beneath the engine under cover, but the cover seems to be in three parts. I'd like to be able to take just one of them off instead of all three. It seems a bit excessive to have to take the whole cover off just to change the oil filter. Can anyone tell me which side of the car the oil filter is located?
