Gear Stick Vibs

On driving at 60mph gear stick vibrates loudly only in 5th gear ,go over 60 mph it goes away ,vey irritating as it bugs the **** out of me ,what can cause this and is there a simple fix for it? It will go away if i put my hand over the gear knob ,all gears select ok so o problem there , think it is gear cables or something it uses to select ,can theb cables be viewed from underneth the motor?
