Can anyone please tell me what the wheel dimensions of a 2001 Toyota Celica 1.8 vvt-i?

I've looked for ages on the internet and cant find any clear answers, Just individuals asking about offsets of specific alloys!

What exactly do you want to know?.

The 16" are 6.5J with a Offset of 39.

17" are 7J with ET38.

Gen 5, 6, and 7 all take a 5x100 PCD

Centre Bore is 54.1

Well to be honest, ive read about what the specs of alloys are, and don't get it.

I know that alloys need the name number of studs as the mount, but will alloys of any diameter fit, and does the offset matter?

It doesnt matter what size alloys you use. You can replace your 16's with 17/18 or even 19" wheels! But the problem is that wheel is heavier than tyre, so the bigger your wheels the heavier the car is, the more the engine stuggles to move the car and therefore your performance is ruined and economy disappears.

The ideal wheel size for a celica is 16 or 17 inch. 18 is too big.

You can only fit alloys of a 5x100 PCD. Anything else and the studs just wont fit in the holes.

The offset is how far from the centre line of the alloy the mounting point is. You can fit wheels with a slightly different offset and it should be fine. But too much either way and then you risk them sitting too far in the arches (and possibly rubbing suspension arms) or sitting too far out of the arches (and rubbing the arches themselves).

Explained in detail here - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Offset_(wheel)

Some cars that use 5x100 PCD -

Celica Gen4-7

Carina/Avensis (Not the mk2 or mk3 Avensis)

86-91 Camry

MK2 Prius

Audi TT

VW Golf

Subaru Impreza/Legacy/Outback/Forester (Earlier models mostly, some later models use a different PCD)

I personally run 16" Subaru Impreza STI wheels on mine as they were the specific design/look that i was after and they are also uber lightweight. But i needed 30mm spacers to get them to clear my suspension/brakes as their offset was too positive.

However, now they clear the brakes/suspension they are too negative and rub my arches which meant i had to roll the arches  So is life!
