Having updated my iPhone 4 and iPad to iOS 5 I can report that the BT streaming to the head unit is awesome and, like mentioned elsewhere, shows track, artist, album and all without a USB cable. Volume and track forward, back etc is done from the steering wheel.

Just rushing outside to the car now to try the iPhone 4S as I picked one up at 08:05 from my local O2 :) I had queue from dead early though :(

Habu, I would be interested in your views of iOS 5, keep us posted

Can you let me know the process of streaming your music through the headunit?

Thanks

Simple really. Pair your phone with the car's multimedia via bluetooth. Under Audio select your phone as the portable device to play from. Now push Mode on your steering wheel and select bluetooth (and not Aux). You should now see the Airplay logo next to your play button on your phone when you select music. Press it and select Car Multimedia and et voila sound through your car's Speakers and track data on the head unit.

As Seamaster rightly said there's already a thread that he kindly started otherwise I wouldn't have known about the iOS 5's ability to display data etc on the head unit. :)

Can report that, if you have an iPhone 4S, Siri comes out of the car's Speakers rather than the phone itself. Also, when talking to Siri you talk to the car's overhead mic rather than into the phone. It's great to be on the move and be able to send (and receive) texts and emails whilst driving all whist keeping your hands on the steering wheel. :)

Can ask Siri, too, to play specific playlists from my iPhone or even specific tracks whilst driving. I just talk into the car's mic and ask Siri to play, for example, "Surfacing by Slipknot from my iPod". How cool is that!

How do you initiate Siri in the car? Do you hold down one of the steering wheel buttons (like you hold down a headset button)? Or do you have to initiate on the phone?

I've just been briefly touching the phone's home button to initiate Siri. I find I can do that quickly enough to be safe especially if the phone is either in my shirt pocket or on the passenger seat. I haven't found a way to call up Siri yet using the car's controls.
