Has anyone adjusted their wastegate 2 turns on the 2.2? looking for a bit more boost and hold for longer.

Is that possible on these cars?

I used to do similar with a couple of old Pug 306 1.9 Turbo Diesels I had and with an Impreza Turbo too.

What are the desired affects, and side affects of adjusting the waste gate?

Also, is this possible on the 2.0D4D as well? Pics would be a bonus too ;)

I thought it was all controlled by the ECU, so doing this would either raise a fault inside the ECU and reduce power to prevent engine damage, or it would over compensate with something else (probably fuel and air mixture) and kill your economy and possibly your engine in the long term.

Thats why you could do this to the old XUD engines, because there was no ECU to worry about.

Cracking engine them, more often than not it was rest of car that went before the engine did.

Have you tried running it on cooking oil?

Thats one of the main reasons I want an old 306 (or any XUD engine) as a cheap run around, so it can be run on cooking oil for a fraction of the cost, and have the wastegate wound open for extra power.
