Can't believe how tired I feel now after a day of car washingeek.gif

I'm not on commission honest, but last week when I went to buy all my cleaning stuff, I decided to stick to one brand for everything. I was looking at Meguiars & Auto Glym. Meguiars was my choice after long deliberation.

I was up at 8 this morning and gave her a wash with Ultimate Wash & Wax and a Wash Mitt, dried off with a Water Magnet (it really does soak up the water and leave a streak free finish). Then next up was Clean, Polish & Wax with Deep Crystal 3 Step System using Even Coat Applicator Pads for application and Supreme Shine Microfibre to finish off.

All of these are OK to get on the black plastic and rubber as it doesn't leave a white residue behind.

She looks like she just left the showroom, I actually want it to rain now so I can see how well the water beads up rolleyes.gif

I also did half of my wife's Punto, which is a very dark blue (looks black in certain light). You only have to look at it and think scratch and one appears. The 3 Step System really did make a big difference to the paint finish. I think my iQ is too new for it to be noticeable, but at least I know it is well waxedthumbsup.gif

I did my Avensis on thursday. It took me over 5 hours to do! So why did you go for Meg's over Autoglym?

1st... I washed the car off using a Nilfisk pressure washer and then under chassis lance

2nd... Snow Foam lance ( Lovely smell of banana)

3rd... Turtle car wash with mitt (2 bucket system)

4rd... Clayed all the panels ( Bilt hamber soft)

5th... Autoglym HD wax

6th... Rain-X the windows/mirrors/lights

7th... A nice cold pint of Fosters and a sore back and arms!

I was gonna post some pics of her as the old bird looked amazing. But the wife took the car out down the country lanes and it came back filthy! She can do it next time me thinks!

I think it was because I read on one of the products "Avoid getting onto Black Plastic and unpainted surfaces"

That is the annoying thing, I know after two days back at work it won't look like it has been donecursing.gif

Been using Mer which was a present But to be honest I have a problem working hard to make it great when I can take it to some very good guys down the road where they have 5-6 people at a time working on it in specialised areas I.e one guy on wheels another on the glass etc and have it waxed looking far better than I can do it for £5 sorted. For £10 they will do the inside using crevice brushes, results Amazing!!!
