Getting Shock Absorbers Replaced

Well, finally, clunking sound found. I am totally disgusted the other garages couldn't work it out.

Front shock absorber gone and the other one has a lot of corrosion.

I was there when they heard the clunking sound themselves. So I believe what they are saying. The guy said it isn't so easy these days to get parts for the model itself, they try to go for originals. Quote to replace the two and all the mounts max £400. it depends how cheap he can get the parts. I would point out, this is a reputable garage, and one I finally got my car into.

Is this a good deal?

Yes, I was going to get rid of the car due to mounting costs, but I couldn't part with it. At least not yet.

And in all fairness, the car is 16 years old and the only thing it needed doing in all that time is a front wheel bearing.

Should say the car is a Rav 95 GX

2 x genuine shocks will cost you approx £160 off me. Top mounts etc will be a lot more

PM me the car chassis number and I will price the parts completely for you, then you can go in for a "labour only" quote

Kingo

I replaced the shocks on number 1 RAV myself - and replaced the top mounts altho I found after stripping it all down that the mounts were OK.
