Gen 2 3Rd Service And Mot

Rather than use the local dealers at Hedge End, I choose to drive an hour away and use the Toyota dealer in Salisbury again.

I find the customer experience nicer at Westover (Salisbury) than I do with Snows (Hedge End), they seem to listen and even if they might think it (I don't know if they do) at least they haven't tried to belittle, bully, or use the line "we are the experts we know best line" that I still recall from my very bad experience with Snows and an oil overfill.

The 10k service and MOT came to nearly 170 ukp.

Good points for Westover, they noted down what I wanted set. They examined the car for appearance, condition, etc, they found the tiny scratches that I already knew about, although they did miss the small bubbling of paint on the leading edge of the bonnet.

At reception I asked about the oil and they said they would use Mobil Super 3000 Formula P 5w-30, change of story compared with what I was told on the phone.

Bad points.

Environ/Engine additive at 4 ukp - I'm a little dubious about the benefits of these things and I just hope it does no harm to the engine.

Some consumables were itemised but then others were not - I guess fairly typical

MOT was full price. (If I join their 3 year service plan of 660 quid, the MOT would be 20 quid - do they overcharge on the service plan to cover the MOT, or overcharge on the MOT? ;) ).

Brake fluid was not replaced, it had been checked and given my low mileage not changed, and it was noted that I should have the quality of fluid checked in six months time! I wonder how I do that?
