I recently bought a 55 plate verso D4D which was serviced by the dealer prior to pick up.

However - (even for a diesel) the oil was blacker than I thought it should be - so monday being a lovely day I decided to do an oil + filter change.

The pleasant surprise ??... I found that it has a real man sized metal spin on filter  my last 5 cars have had those awful paper element type...just like my old cars from years ago !!

Out of all the venicles I ever had only the Jag 2.7d had a paper element filter and I never changed the oil on that myself, all the rest have had metal spin filters.

Happy days Baz :)

Don't hold your breath chaps, paper elements are on the way back, most modern Toyota engines now have a paper element, spin on filters are on the decline

Kingo
