Might be a setting on the tomtom for the volume cos mine ring rings before someone answers.

Making calls. Go to mobile phone option on satnav and transfer phone book then you should be able to scroll through.

Reading texts is only compatible with certain phones. I know iPhone is out the question. Not sure about the rest

Different phones react differently to bluetooth handsfree systems... so don't rule out handset variations and options.

Since I downgraded to an iPhone lots of bluethooth features work differently.

the mobile phone option on the tomtom is disabled while the car is moving so you wont/shouldnt be able to scroll through while driving :S

stop being a man and read the instructions :P

You can turn off the safety feature that stops you using the scroll and satnav when driving as its a pain when it locks! Its in the setting somwhere. The phone does not ring, of it does not with mine, the satnav rings, or the Speakers, but the phone stays silent!

When you add the phone to the satnav or pair it, you can add the phone book from the phone, so if you want to make a call you can scroll through the phone book on the tom tom. This is one this that disables with the safety feature that you can turn off so that when driving you can make a call.

You can also set it to auto answer or to press the tick when the phone rings on the tom tom.

Texts have never worked.

I picked up my Brand new Aygo Go earlier this month and found the Tomtom to be well out of date and has a very old navcore so it won't display things like advanced lane guidance and reckon my 8 year old tomtom is better.

No updates available apart from the maps so i think i will use my old device and at least i can get RDS TMC traffic updates.

In my opinion the built in device is rubbish.

I hated the safety lock function, meaning you would have to stop to make a outgoing call, which is pointless! you also cant program the satnav on the move with it active.

Its in the settings menu. That way you can select a person to call on the move. If you can use the radio while driving and adjust stations etc its very similar.
