Rear Heater Issue

hi everyone,

i have an avensis verso 2.0 d-4d 2004. The front heater works fine, but the rear heater doesn't. I tend to warm the car up and when i switch on the "Rear Heater" button under the steering to "hi" or "low" mode, i get nothing, although i'm sure i can hear the fan kicking in.

Can anyone please advice what i need to check?

Thanks!

The windscreen heater works fine mate, but its the rear heater vents for the passengers that are not working.

when you turn the fan on, can you hear air around the seats?

You will have to remove the seats and carpets to inspect the pipes

When I switch on the rear heater, I can hear a fan noise kicking in, but there is absolutely no air. However if I switch on the Rear Cooler switch (the one just above the driver-side-rear passenger seat) then I can feel very cold air coming from the vents above/near roof).

If the fan is spining.

and no or very little air is comming out.

Pipe has become split / Loose / Blocked.

You need to get to the blower first and remove the pipe and test airflow.
