Sr180 Brakes

I have a 1.33 Auris and as I am about to change brake discs, I was wondering about putting the SR180 ones. They are 295mm instead of 275mm.

But I don't know if my car has the same brake calipers with the SR180. So if anyone could help me I would be grateful.

Thanks in advance.

if the Auris is similar to the Avensis (& I believe that it is in this regard) then the 2.2 D4D uses a different wheel hub from the rest so you would have to change hubs as well.

You might want to see what MTEC can offer you as their discs for the Avensis seem better (& cheaper) than Toyota OEM.

Not sure about this point...

.. but I know the SR180 has bigger wheels (17") and so likely allows fitment of slightly bigger disc brake/pad assemblies.

If you dont have the SR180 (or 17" or more) wheels, it might be worth checking that the bigger brakes will 'fit' inside smaller diameter wheels.

As I say, I don't know if this is a potential issue, but maybe someone else here would know the answer..?

cheers,

Tony

Thanks for your answers.

I have 16" wheels that fit into Honda Type-R 300mm discs, so there is no problem with the wheels.

As for my initial question, I searched at www.toyodiy.com and found out that the SR180 has different brake calipers than the 1.33.
