I have a German Shepherd & a Rottweiller & just have a standard full mesh Toyota dog guard (there is a half mesh one too) that does a fantastic job as I always cart the 2 of them around together with no issues.

I can supply pics if this helps? Also, do you really need a crate?

I too have the full mesh dog guard, never seen the need for a crate...but I do have to Golden Retrievers and a Springer !!!

I have a small dog (Shih Tzu) he sits/lies down in the back seat wearing a harness with the seatbelt through it. I use a seat protector too to catch any grit/leaves off his paws.I had a poodle one time and did the same with him too. Make sure to tie the crate down with the seatbelt to keep it from sliding about.

She's been crated in the car but out grown the one she's in. She loves her crate, she's safe and i'm happy she's happy...... You know what puppies are like jump all over the place and straight out the back door when i open it. Lokked ay Trans K9, Guardsman and Barjo etc............. But a bit expensive i feel!
