Toyota Avensis T3-X D-4D Abs Light

Hi this is my first post, can anyone advise should the ABS light on dash come on when turning on ignition, as this has been failed on my MOT

Yes it should. It goes through a check routine and goes out after a few seconds, it is a failable item on the MOT

Thanks. Bought the car a year ago from a dealer with a new service and MOT and have never seen the light on when turning on ignition.

Lets hope it's only the bulb needs replacing, and not removed to hide an ABS problem!

AS mentioned earlier, if the bulb is replaced, then it should only glow for a few seconds after turning on the ignition.

If it stays on permanently, then you have an ABS problem. The clue is a missing bulb.

The MOT may have activated the ABS during the brake test - if the rollers turn the wheels fast enough.

Bulb is about a £1!
