A friend of mine is seriously interested in a 2006 Rav4 XT4 2ltr petrol Astrs black with 49000 miles on the clock. The price is £13000 from Caledonian.im who are the main dealers on the IOM. Don,t know about service history but looks OK. She is not bothered about it being petrol as she does only 6000 miles a year. Gentlemen Gurus your opnions would be very much welcome!!!

Sounds about £4K too much to me!!

Of course it all depends on spec/manual/auto/reg date owners and a lot more, even so, it looks expensive

As far as I know John it is XT4 spec, including leather seats. So you rally think it is £4k to much, I know it,s main dealer priced but I had,nt a clue it was so over priced. That,s one of the problems of living on an island. What sort of UK price from a main dealer should it be?

Clare, as a guide, just put the figures into the PARKERS WEBSITE

best to know when it was registered etc but you will get an idea of main dealer price

It sound very expensive for a petrol of that vintage... But a lot depends on condition and how much the buyer wants the car ?? Plus how many extras are on it ? You can soon spend a lot of money fitting side steps roof rails A bars ect ect but 13K .... Mmmm Do You have a link to the car ??

That should be 10K max, and if no service history, a great lump lower like 9K or less

I paid £12,000 for my 2007 XT5 with 44k on the clock. This included them adding a Thule detachable towbar for me so the car was really £11,500 ish..

Admittidly it was Honda dealer so wasn't an "approved car" but a cracking deal if you ask me!

Clare. That car is just far to expensive !! Yes it is a very nice looker and has some nice bits on it but the Dealer is being very optimistic..... But then with winter on the way someone may just fall for it ?? That would still be to expensive if it was a diesel,,,

Have told my friend that it is overpriced, and to either tell them to come down to a sensible price, or just forget it. Big Kev,****Turpin is alive and living on the IOM, he owns the Lexus, Toyota,Bmw,Mini,Vauxhall,CiteonPeugout and Vauxhall dealerships, by the way no joke he is a Scot!!!!!

Gus, already sused that one out. Just want to sus out Rav prices on the main dealer forecourts,so I can report back to my mate and get them to go across and get one there as opposed to buying one on island.

Charlie, yes if the price of the Rav XT4 is anything to go by.The problem is the Car dealers whether Main or Indy know that it costs at least £300 to get on and off the island by the Steamracket, so they have a captive audience.

What most do including my Dad is go off island and do the deal either by phone or online.

My Dad when he bought his Urbancruiser contacted RBM Northallerton and did the deal with them and they even brought it up to Heysham docks for him.
