Registration Plate Bulb Change

Hi

Purchased replacement bulbs for the one that wasn't working on my daughter's pride and joy. Read the owner's manual - simple 5 minute job! Why is it I can't get the fitting to come out. Other than taking it to a garage can anyone suggest how best to do it without breaking/damaging anything?

If you have read the owners manual you will know that the fitting slides to one side and then down. However over time these fittings can 'weld' themselves to the paintwork and present a problem. One method is to slide a thin sheet of stiff plastic between the fitting and the body all round to free the fitting, the method I prefer is to do the same thing but using dental floss between the light and the bodywork, it is kinder to the paint! Then push to one side and down at one side to release it. I think it pushes to the nearside of the car and lowers from the opposite side, but consult your manual on this.
