When you decide to change them have a look at the MTEC discs and pads. Very good indeed and as cheap as chips. I've got the drilled and groved black addition and they stop the car far better than the original set up.

The maintenence explainations by nrgizebunny will be usefull,I must check the torque values to see if they're the same as for the yaris.I still have 8500km. to go before I reach the 90000 scheduled maintenence (which I will do myself),to find out if the brake pads are worn I must take the wheel off and look, right? or wait for brake failure, which I prefer not to do.My other car has a red light on the dash that comes on,there is a wire that touches when the pads are worn. Thanks anyway. When I do the job I'll take some 'photos and try to post, maybe of help for someone else, official mechanics are pretty expensive.

I would say 3mm. on pads, remember the inside ones tend to wear more rapidly than the outside ones, The minimum thickness for the disc is usually stamped on the rim, you will probably have to clean off some rust to find it.
