Hej Rav4 Dudes

Can anyone tell me what Bulb type the Rav4.2 front indicators are? Also, is a simply case of undoing the screw at the front of the lense to change them?

Thanks in advance,

Allan

Is the bulb removal not in the manual?

I always find the best way to be sure what bulb you need is to remove it and look at it. I've had a couple of cars where the manual was simply wrong about which bulb fitted.

The main difference on indicator bulbs is whether the pins are aligned in a straight line or aligned at 12pm and 5pm; and if it's a regular or mini sized bayonet.

Don't have the manual....all the paperwork I have contains no details on bulbs or how to remove them. Am just being lazy....I could easily crawl around and remove......just thought some owners would know off the top of their head!.....Yes, got you on the pins....just wanted to know if they were offet or opposite type....I guess I will get my phillips out! hahaha

Thanks for the reply.

Cheers

If Allen's motor is an early '03 model it could be the same as my '01.

Mine seems to have an amber dome inside the indicator that the bulb fits in to,I have always assumed that it would be a clear bulb.

Been wrong before and I could be now though!!

Not saying you are wrong Chatlie, old lad, perhaps I should have followed the adage-- Better to keep your gob shut and have folks think thee a fool than oppen it and prove it,eh?

Do you mean that the actual lens is amber colour......I wanted to put a chrome to amber bulb in to get rid of the "fried egg look" from the indicator. Are you saying that it is actually the complete assembly that is coloured and not just the bulb?

Cheers

Allan. I don't know Mate ! I found the bulb list that applies to all Ravs and pasted it up... I assume its the bulb that is coloured from the above text.

If it helps, mine has the rectangular indicator above the same shape fog lamp.

Just been out and removed it and it has a clear capless bulb with the pins in line.

If it has the round fogs then I suppose it may be different.

A: Cause am lazy and it's freezing out there!

B. Because I am a member of the Toyota Forum and would like to rely on the expert knowledge of others.

C. Because am lazy

Well, at least I now know and it's the lens that's amber not the bulb so there's nothing that can be done to rid myslef of the fried egg look....every day is a school day!hehe
