Colour Coded Bumpers

I was thinking about having my bumpers sprayed to 'chili red' instead of the black they are now.

I was wondering if anyone had had this done?

I was hoping you might be able to tell me what sort of price I should be looking at.

Thanks

Great Forum BTW

I also drive a 1.0 GS Pete, great little motor's!

I have learned thru my limited knowledge that u need 2 get them prepared differently, if u just sprayed them with out prepping them the paint would just flake off!

I reckon it could cost around the £200 for the front and rear bumper!

Cheers

take it to a proper reputable bodyshop and they will need to get rid of the textured 'nobbles' off the bumper otherwise the paint will just come straight back off!

for front and back it'll be approx £300 paying cash for a good job. That's what my husband said he would probably charge.

My dealership offered it as a 'extra' last year.... quite a few people done it. I know the bodyshop realy had to take there time with them as it would be oh so easy for the paint to flake at the first stone.... I know of no 'grumbles' as of yet.

I'll Phone Toyota and see how much they want to do it. I expect them to be expensive though, they wanted nearly 280 just to change Cassette to CD..

I think it makes a huge difference to the car though :)

The best price I've been able to find is 200 for both bumpers..seems fairly reasonable. This was from a local company (been around years but only 2 people work there)

I havent phoned Toyota yet, I expect them to charge atleast twice as much anyway..

200s good, you could be charged alot more

the main thing is the prep on bumpers of such kind, it takes ages!

280quid to put a standard cd headunit in, its cheaper to put an aftermarket one in and it will sound better
