4.2 Front Anti-Roll Bar Link Wear - Clonk

Hi

Fresh from success with the back end (rear spring noises) next up on the annoyance list is front ARB droplink wear and the "clonk" over the bumps..

In recent years a fresh pair of (aftermarket) drop links (£30 odd) has cured this for a year or so, and all was acceptably well. A month or so ago I changed them - same make, same supplier, same price! and they have started clonking already

So far two possibilities cross my amateur mind:-

1) duff ARB links?

2) something else is worn and is wearing the ARB links out - but what? and how to check?

Car has 56000 miles and has a fairly hard life up and down our 1/2 mile rough farm track average 2 times a day....

Cheers

Jim

If it were me I would seek out a friendly independent garage, get them to put it on a ramp and inspect/investigate the suspension personally with their most knowledgeable engineer :)

A lot of places will not charge for a 15 minute check, they hope it will lead to business.
