Rav 4 Problems

PLEASE CAN SOMEONE HELP ME?

I am having ongoing issues with the acceleration of my Rav4. When I put my foot on the accelerator sometimes it completely cuts out and I find myself "drifting" until it kicks in again. The car has been to two seperate garages, the last one replaced the fuel filter and the RAV ran really well for about six weeks until yesterday when the same problem started. I wonder whether I need to ask for the fuel pipe to be changed as it feels like the fuel does not get through evenly (like sucking up a straw where the air bubbles get in the way)...if that makes sense?

All help and suggestions are very much appreciated. Thanks, Sarah

hi Sarah

it's sad story - but do not give up.

Your possible issues might be, as follows:

- still air remained in the suction line (after fuel filter or remains being sucted due to leaks);

- SCV is about to die (both must be tested);

- EGR valve clogging bu carbon deposits.

CHeck and revert

Igor

Hi

It would help if you could post a bit more info about your car eg

Petrol/Diesel

Model

Pure guess - it sounds like you suffering from classic RAV Diesel problems

Sounds like it could be the SVC valves

AKA the Suction Control Valves :thumbsup:
