Can anyone tell me which sensors (where they are located) for the following error codes?

P0141 (bank 1)

p0161 (bank 2)

They are both 02 sensors,

Any help appreciated,

Thanks.

Hi Mystic,

have you found post: http://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=126943&st=0&p=1130634&hl=+oxygen%20+sensor%20+location&fromsearch=1entry1130634 ?

The problem has been around on the forum for some time and there are lots of bits of info. I'll PM Anchorman and ask him to pin the location information at the top of the forum so it will be easier to find for anyone else with the problem.

Thanks for the helps guys,

I been out there this morning, nothing but trouble so far. First i couldn't get the spanner in the space i had so i had to go buy a socket with a slot in the side for the wire.

Now i just cannot get them undone, with all my might it just wont budge, i have manged to undo it maybe 1/2 a turn, i keep soaking it in wd40 but just cannot move it.

Any ideas?

right.. after 2 hours of working it back and forth i have finally got it out.. looks like the part number is 89465-42100, on the one i got off, unfortunately it is different from the two sensor i was given by a friend which where 89467-42020, so im a bit peeved about that..

Does anyone know the cheapest place to get hold of two of these?, they don't have to be denso, anything like ngk would be good, but i'm avoiding the universal ones.

I know I'm getting a little ahead of the plot here, but when you fit the new ones use a LITTLE Copperslip on the threads. I know Anchorman ( who has my total respect ) has a bit of a thing about it, but it's saved me hours of labour dismantling exhaust and other hot parts over the years. If this is a granny/eggs situation then I apologise, but it's easy to forget once you can see the light at the end of the tunnel .... or was it the tunnel at the end of the light  Good luck with getting the sensors and fitting them

I have myself a nice big tub of copperslip, anything i take off gets a good coating before it goes on, if i ever sale my car the next owner is gonna love me if they have to remove anything

Anyway back to pricing, everywhere is so expensive, the cheapest i can find now is around £70 each, there must be a cheaper place?

Worth paying for the DENSO ones unless you want to be doing this job again right soon.

World car parts were the cheapest.

You think £70 is expensive? When I had P0141 3+ years ago Mr T charged £138.93 for the sensor , £75 for fitting and then VAT on top. Part no. on my bill (same car as yours) is listed as 89465-42090. I think the bottom 2 are the same (but may be wrong) unlike the top 2 which have different lead lengths.

What a pain that was getting them sensors out, spent about 6 hours on it

Anyways got them changed and cleared the error, but i find now that the idle is really low, the computer is reading about 500rpm, if you rev them engine then let it drop back down its very close to stalling. Any ideas?

I found after changing two sensors, the other two went faulty (all 4 heater coils were faulty). Do you have new codes?

Also remember it can take up to 100 miles for the engine to adapt after a prolonged period of Battery disconnection where the adaptations are cleared.

Try testing the impedance of the two black wires (heater element). Expect 4-15 Ohms. Open circuit is a failed heater.

I've always found it does that after disconnecting the Battery. Should be OK in a day or so , take it for a bit of high speed running , works for me.
