Smart Entry / Start

Hi All,

I’ll start by introducing myself, as Mike from Gloucester, and then say what a great forum this… people are friendly and the comments are informative & helpful…

We recently traded in our Avensis after many years of faithful service, and bought a new RAV4 XT-R AWD ( 4.3 model I think ) including the premium nav with smart entry/start.

We are generally very pleased with the car, but are thinking about changing the head-unit.

Can anyone tell me whether if you replace the B9017 head-unit, does this also mean the smart entry/start function no longer works.?

I’ve tried searching for the question, but can’t find a specific answer ?

Also, does anyone have a wiring diagram for the B9017 head-unit, I need to find the handbrake / speed sensor / reverse connections for the new one..

Thanks

Welcome to the club.

Our electronics guru tends to be shcm (a young boffin that I personally trained).

He cooks his tea by splitting atoms but when he's finished singing his eyebrows I'm sure he or one of the others will provide your info.
