Auris 1.4 Turbo Diesel Heater Not Working

Hi all,

The heater has stopped working in my 08 Auris. Fan is working fine and temp gauge is normal but only cold air blowing. Anybody else had this problem.

Hi has there just been anti/freeze installed and the heater requires bleed,? the other thing it may be the dreaded cylinder head trouble !!!!!

Sounds like your heater matrix may be air-locked - get it checked out ASAP.

Thanks for replies guys. Topped up the coolant header tank and the heater is working ok now.

Hi jonnyone it would appear that some toyota's with Diesels engines can have cylinder head gasket faults. I do not know what particular engine size but don't think it is your one the 1.4 maybe some other member's out there could enlighten us to which engine has the possable fault. Glad you found the cause and its not the dreaded HG happy motoring,

From searching on the forum the 2.2 diesel are notorious for head gasket failures not sure about which models but I know models affected are the Auris and Avensis.

Toyota do help or rebuild engines providing the car has a full service history and has been maintained according to their regulations, I have read extended warranty is available upto a 100,000 miles.

Maybe a member on here could clarify in more detail?
