Gearbox And Drive Noise?/ Which Is It

Hi folks.

I went off the road two weeks ago in my 2.0 TD 2000 avensis ,nothing serious which i thought,The left hand side caught the grass and i went in for a moment.And as of the last couple of days there is a rattling noise coming out of the gear box or drive and lots of oil underneath the car.The drive seams to be out a small bit and look bent and thats where oil is leaking out of.Can the gearbox be salvaged if new drive is fitted,thank you

You need to make sure the drive shaft has not been pulled out of the gearbox!

the oil will be leaking from the gearbox drive shaft.

replace the shaft and change oil on box.

Also the leak will be from where the driveshaft enters the gearbox.

Has a Rubber seal.
