Help - Discontinued Wheel Nuts

My 1996 Celica ST (P reg) is missing a wheel nut and I've found out they're discontinued. Local dealer can't help (computer says no!). Went back to Leicester dealer where car was bought and they offered to email all dealerships to see if they could get me one from old stock, but no joy. They gave me the part number: PZ406-10670-01 for wheel nuts for Eclipse alloy wheels. I've tried eBay (no joy) and a google search - there seem to be websites for Toyota parts suppliers in Russia, Lithuania and Macedonia that may have them but I don't know if they're safe to deal with. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Are your "Eclipse" alloys standard on the Gen 6 or after market?, Wendy. The fact you've mentioned a Toyota part no. suggests they're OE, so have a flat, rather than a 60 degree tapered seating.

If so, are these the correct size?

Unfortunately these are not the right size, but thanks for trying. The ones I'm looking for are much longer, at least twice as long I would estimate. They are Toyota wheels but I'm told they were regarded as an accessory so I guess non-standard? I didn't know that until I tried to find a replacement wheel nut! I bought the car with these wheels already on 15 years ago, from a Toyota dealership.

Cannot get them off, too tight, will have to go to garage but can't for few days as will be at work. Meantime have found pictures from Danish Toyota forum from a guy looking for the same thing a couple of years ago. He found some in Belgium! See attached.

I have to admit, Wendy, that I haven't seen that type of nut before, but I know more about the Gen 7 than 6.

Send a PM to Bryan, his user name on here is "Old Red Celica", he is more of a specialist on the Gen 4 and 6.

Belgium is where Toyota's European Parts HQ is situated, so that may be where the Danish owner had success.

But the essential thing is the cone bit, so I would have thought as long as the angles are the same using a std nut would work just as well.

Have you tried Parts-King (I hope I've got that right) they are on here and a Toyota Dealership if you are worried about sending money abroad.

The other option is find a Celica breaker, either on here or on another Celica based forum.

The other option is find a Celica breaker, either on here or on another Celica based forum.

What you have is known as a sleeve-nut. And the sleeve section i.e. the tubular section, is just as important as the taper seat.

Sleeve contains threads whose length is at least twice as long as the wheel stud diameter - for safety. Outer diameter serves as a locater when it slots through the thickness of the alloy hub.

So - using just a tapered wheel nut is NOT safe and probably won't have enough threads engaged.

Find a friendly engineer and ask him to turn up a replica on his lathe. I would use stainless steel if you intend keeping the car.
