Hi i have got a 57 plate avensis with the touch screen sat nav im wondering how u can use the sat nav while you are driving because at the minute you have to be parked up!!

Is there something you can do???

It's by design. It's suppossed to stop you messing with it whilst driving and is the same as the TNS 300 system.

I don't know of any way around it.

can you use the satnav when you are stopped and without having your handbrake up?

If this is the case, then you need to find and cut the speed sensor wire on the back of the unit.

If you have to put the handbrake up to use it,

find the offending wire, cut and feed a 12v ignition live.

a friend of mine bought a tr avensis early 08,i bought one late 08 identical cars,mine is usable on the move and his is not for some reason i forget, he wanted to borrowed my disc and it loaded updates into his system and after that it worked the same as mine,he had to disconect his Battery at some point and lost the updates but just borrowed it again,after the updates he put his disc back in and the updates stayed working......toyota didn't know this was the case,guess the sofware is out of there remit hope this helps,

ps did i mention the word updates!!
