Hi,

I need to remove the OEM Roof Rack from my 2007 XTR but I cannot find the small black plastic key that is needed.Does anyone have one I can buy or borrow? or know where I could get one?

Here's a pic of the plastic cover i need to remove to access the bolts:

Hi Matty

Have you tried a suitable size allen or torq key to see if they might somehow fit the splines enough to remove the caps?

Another thing you could try is spray inside the cap with silicon release agent and then fill it with something like body filler and put enough on to give you something to grip.

The release agent will stop the filler sticking to the cap.

I know this sounds like a Heath Robinson-ish idea but it could work, maybe(fingers crossed )

Now keeping my head down :rolleyes:

I was going to suggest something very similar but with araldite rather than body filler Del.....

Could maybe build up around the cap with plastiscine to create a boss to get a grip on and stick an allen key in to act as a lever too
