Leaking From Ceiling On 2003 Rav4?

Hi all,

I bought a RAV4 a few weeks back. Its a 2003 model with the sunroof (cant remember the exact spec at the minute). I have noticed over the last couple of days when it rains there is leaking from the ceiling. I originally thought it was coming from the sunroof (would be the obvious candidate!), but it appears to be coming from around the interior light/sunglasses holder.

I've opened the sunroof and checked that the two drainage holes arent blocked (tipped water down and managed to make it all the way down without any coming out of inside). It mainly seems to happen when cornering.

Any ideas what it could be? Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers, Shane

Probably sunroof frame corrosion.

Part open the sunroof, peel back the rubber seal from around the glass and check the frame.

I was lucky and got mine replaced under warranty.

Hi, had the same problem.Found it to be where the two plastic strips on the roof meet the top windshield rubber there was a gap there allowing water to run down inside the roof lining.Squeezed some gutter sealer under the rubber where the plastic strip meets the windshield rubber and under either side of the seal.It took me a while to figure this one out.

Hope this helps.

Mike.

Thanks for the response and sorry for the delay. Will have a look and see if there are any problems around there.
