Lucida Back Pressure Exhaust

hi lucida chucking black smoke looked at evry thing erg vale timing belt and mate had look and told me exhaust was bloked up so took off at the turbo and no more black smoke took off exhaust pipe off and in the center of ti is a butterfly valve dont know what this is so rang pound and told it was back pressure exhaust can i take this out as other lucida ive lookedaat has not got any

is Lucida normally passenger car?

I presume the main meaning of this batterfly is to use as an emergency brake when driven in hilly roads (to safe brake pads from fast wearing down). As to smoke - your turbo's current status is like a monument -- so it must be overhauled first to give an air to the engine -- afterwards -- you will forget your smoke. Cheers/Igor

Have you tried the STP? Have you checkt to invalve emission or exhaustbearing?
