on these cars, the most common fault are

Fuel Filter

Starter Motor

Fuel Pump Control Valves.

and maybe EGR valve stuck open.

has it thrown any codes up?

hi where is the Fuel Pump Control Valves.

Before you do anything else...........

1 -Change the fuel filter, its the cheapest item to replace

2 -check EGR valve, (clean and verify the spring is not sticking and keeping valve open)

3 - clean cam and crank sensors, 1 is located at the top of the head and the other next to the crank. You will need to remove the timing covers to remove and clean.

4a - Get a car on a diagnostics machine and check for any codes, if it has stored anything write them down and post here

4b - Whilst still on the diag machine get them to check the injectors to see if the fuel is injected correctly, if you have a potential injector issue, which could cause long starts. One of several injectors will be showing as out of spec and the other injectors will be trying to compensate by sticking more fuel in...

If the above checks out..

Turn to the control valves..

Its the white top 2 pin connector. The control Valve is not avalible on its own from dealers, you have to buy the entire fuel pump. . It can not be cleaned as it is a sealed unit.

To diagnoise this component, you need to get a small hammer, or a spanner, and tap the valve gentley against the metal top section and have someone crank the engine.

If it cranks and starts that is your problem...

good luck, remb my advise is free, Please understand some of this is techical work and will require you getting your hands dirty. If you dont know what your doing, go to a garage.

however if the valve is sticking

a recon starter will cost you 60-70£

did you get someone to plug a diag machine into the obd port and look at the injector values.

or areyou going to ignore what I have said above?

i am still confused whether or not you treated SCV ???

the injector is fuel valve controled by similar solenoid on the upper side og the injector body.

try to post u-tube for us right here. Cheers
