Coolant Temperature Monitor

One of the few things I dislike about my verso is the lack of a coolant temp guage.

Doing a little lateral thinking...is it possible to monitor coolant temp using something similar to this OBD2 code reader plugged into diagnostic port and bluetoothing to an android phone or some other mini display...

im pretty sure you could fit an aftermarket on but that would mean mounting a separate gauge and wiring a probe into a rad hose joint

Thanks for reply...the idea was to avoid having to modify/tap into the cooling system,AFAIK most engine operating data is available from the diagnostic port so seemed sensible to try using that.
