Central Locking

Hi I have a 05 avensis , the central locking only for locking the car refuses to work sometimes while the locking function remains working and I've noticed that this coincides with the interior roof light staying on !!! Can anyone offer a solution, ?!!

Of Course  that was first thing I checked !!!

I have heard of the wires in the doors freying on these, from openign and closing the door, it can cause a short and stop it working.... No idea on the interior light, but they usually run off the same electrical system (well the same fuse)

Thank you :-) that happened with the electric windows on an Audi a4 I used to own , didn't think it could be the same kind of problem , thanks for the information must get someone to take a look at that cheers :-)
