Bridgestone Duellers H/t 687

Going to have to change all 4 very soon - been quite happy with the Bridgestone tyre but I'm not very knowledgeable about this area so would appreciate some input. Pretty normal driving, go off road (softly) from time to time to get some fishing in and also tow a little caravan from time to time. Last winter the Rav was the only car that could get out of our close - it has a slope down to an adjoining road..... and it seemed happy on the ice packed roads we all had to deal with. Any recommendations please - I'm looking for a mid- priced tyre if possible. Thanks.

I only ever fit Falkens these days. Good price, good looks, good grip wet and dry, good wear, low noise. The perfect tyre.

Not needed to do the tyres on the RAV yet but that's what I'll be fitting, ordered online at camskill and fitted for some money for the tea fund at my local tyre place.

We've been running Duellers on the 02 RAV since new & the 54-reg came with them as well. I've never had any issues with them and would be happy to replace with the same. Having said that the Continental Cross Tracs came out very well in 4x4 mag's tyre test and I'm tempted to try them next time especially as they are apparently the best for quietness. Nevertheless I'm quite a big Bridgestone fan having used them for years on my bikes.

Firemac - is that the Bridgestone Dueller 694 that you are using? I'm currently using the 687 model.

687's on both.

Cheers for that.

I know what you mean about the Dueler 687s. Lots of people slag them off, but I have been impressed with the traction from them this past two winters. We have had two RAVs with these tyres fitted. A 4.1 and our present 4.2 2004 XT3.

But recently, I have had to change two of the tyres. After some research, I went for the Falken LandAir T110. The tread of these Falkens look similar to the Duelers, but have slightly wider gaps and more tread depth. I think that in the snow they could be better than the Duelers.

I purchased the Falkens from Black Circles. They have gone up in price since I bought mine. The Falkens are £95.93 each, the Bridgstones £117.43 each. (235/60/16)

Hope this info helps a little.

Cheers Ady -- are you happy with the Falkens? I've used them on saloon cars in the past and found them to be good.
