Squeaks and noises from the front centre armrest console. Any suggestions ? Has anyone taken one apart to get rid of these annoying noises ??

Thanks..

Piece of cheese and a cat usually removes my squeaks :)

Right. I will pop a lump of cheddar into the storage box and see if that helps .....................

Had the same Charlie when first got the car...totally silent until you put your arm on it, then it squeaked verily. Tiny amounts of vaseline were applied at many points of mating surfaces and cheap plastic hinges, and this took about two weeks before the squeaking stopped, so have no clues as to what position of lubrication actually cured it.....but has never been back since.

I've tried lubing the moving parts of the hinged lid and sub lid and tightening any bolts I can see.. I have quietened it a wee bit so must be in the right ball park... If the spray grease and silicone don't do the job when its had a day or two to settle in I will remove the whole assembly and see what I can find...

I kinda hoped it was a common thing with an easy answer though...

Vw`s have a felt adhesive strip atatched to joining plastic surfaces to stop this, maybe you could stick some when it squeaks :o

I have some of that stuff in the garage so will place some in the obvious places if I have to dismantle the whole thing
