Hi All

I've been lurking for a couple of weeks now, thought I'd just say hi.

Current car is a Hyundai Tuscon 4 years old, though it's time for a change, so did the run round the dealers. Initially thought I'd stay with Hyundai as I had a 2.7 v6 coupe before the Tuscon and had no co,plaints about either. I liked the look of the new I40 and I35 but thought what the hell may as well look round the competition to see what was available and who was doing what deals.... Cut a long story short ended up at Toyota and looking at a nice shiny new Prius, I hadnt considered one before. One test drive later with the wife and daughter in tow and a great big smile over my face I went into negotiations with the salesman and brokered a deal.

So on the 30th Nov I should get the keys to my new Prius T Spirit in Silver with rear privacy glass..... my daughters insistance so she's not seen in a milkfloat.... mmm 16 year olds huh. She may take some winning round.... maybe letting her blue tooth her music and stuff may bring her round....

So I'm counting down the days I guess I'll have a few questions as I try and get to grips with new technology..

Cheers

Stu

I think your daughter will be in for a big surprise when she realises just how good your Prius is and all its advanced features. If you are getting the T Spirit you could if you have time and on the first occasion do not go near other cars; show her how it parks itself. I must admit I only tried this once as you need to be very confident and experienced with the self park to use it all the time. People are impressed when I talk to my Prius and tell it to "Go Home" and it sets the Sat/Nav or tell it "Telephone" and it will dial up for you. You and your family will not regret getting a Prius. Especially having no road tax to pay, £10 a year London congestion charge. Fuel consumption in Summer over 60MPG at the moment 58 MPG. Happy Motoring. Will look forward to seeing the pics.

Hi Stu, welcome ... great place here, m'be like me you've trawled all through the posts and then trawled some more ;) good innit!

I'm jealous that you're getting a new Prius this month, I've got to wait till March before I get one, not sure if it's going to be a Prius + (depending on price), or a new T-Spirit GenIII - IV (facelift model?)

I'll also be going with Silver and Privacy glass but not for the reasons of your daughter lol.

I have two daughters, one's 22 the other 18, when I told them we would be getting a Prius, they both smiled and gave me a hug, they both like the idea that as a family we'll be doing our little bit for the environment but more importantly, that we'll be saving money on fuel, insurance and not giving the Gov 'it's pound of flesh in car tax' (their words not mine) :D.

I hope you enjoy your new ride.

My 16 year old son loved my Pearl White Prius Gen3. Thought it looked really cool and sporty. The gadgets inside were just the icing on the cake.

Thanks for the welcome...

Spoke to the dealer yesterday and delivery will now be on the 1st Dec so will have to wait one more day. Reasons given were salesman is on holiday and having to register the car with dvla takes a little while longer because they are transfering my reg plate over...

Cheers

Went to drop some paperwork off at the garage today and sitting out the back is my new car number plates on but not had its pdi. So close but yet so far. Still got to wait till thursday Took a pic. How do you upload pics.

One question for you if you set cruise in town at 30 can you press resume from a standstill say at traffic lights? And how does it affect your mpg if assuming you can?

Sadly no. You can't engage cruise until you reach 25 mph.
