Clutch On New Avensis

got my avensis 2 weeks ago. i have noticed that about 1" from the top of the clutch travel it really seems to spring back at you. it makes a knocking noise as it hits the end of its travel which is annoying as everything else seems so well put together.

is this a 'trait' of the avensis and does it have a really heavy clutch?

Don't think it's a trait I got mine 3weeks ago and the clutch is real smooth - take it back and get them to fix it asap

Mine is smooth, but heavy!

Shouldn't be notchy though. Take it back to dealership & insist they sort it.

thanks for your replys guys. went back to the garage today and they said it was me needing to get used to a hydraulic clutch. apparently the is no feel at the top of the pedal travel (about half an inch) as if there was then the clutch would be riding all the time. dont know if it is bull... but at the moment i am satisfied with his answer. he said my previous car would have had a cable clutch.
