Factory Look Head Unit For Rhd Gen3 Prius

Just in case any gen3 prius T3/T4 owner is looking for a factory look touchscreen/DVD/Nav/Bluetooth/Rearcam/iPod/etc unit to upgrade from the stock CD/Radio, there is a chinese unit for sale on eBay (see item number 260894402176). I have got one in my T3 and while it has its quirks (it is a chinese HU after all), it does a pretty good job for the money and is a straight swap for the stock unit. If anyone is interested and wants to quiz me about the unit, fire away.

Is it an actual touchscreen... reason I ask is that it comes with a stylus. Thx

Yes it is an actual touch screen.

You can use your fingers, thumbs, etc.

Interestingly, mine didn't come with a stylus.

Also:-

While it has a microSD slot for winCE based satnav software, none is supplied so you have to source your own.

The other microSD slot (for media files) is listed as being 8GB max. This is not true. I have a 16GB in mine working perfectly.

Looking at the picture on eBay, the connectors look a bit different. The unit I have has all the necessary sockets on the back of the unit so you just plug the Toyota leads straight in. The eBay picture shows what looks like a harness cable. Might be worth a quick email to see if this is the same unit they were selling earlier in the year.

Edit: Have just heard from the seller. It is the same model that I have so the picture of the connectors and bits on eBay is wrong. The correct picture is over on prius chat...
