HI CAN ANYBODY HELP ME

MY YARIS AS JUST DEVELOPED A PROBLEM Seems to Rev Longer Before Changing Gear, changing from 1st to 2ed when I reach 30 plus it responds as it always did I went to my local Toyota Inchcape Derby they didn’t have any idea they put it on the diagnostics machine {96 quid} the code it was showing is p1346, vvt sensor, they say they could affect vvti controller But what is a vvti controller. Also they said it may have a stretched timing chine this car as only 30000 miles on the clock from new genuine miles as I know the previous owner. Any ideas please Help

Tried disconnecting the Battery for a few minutes then plugging it back again to see if that resets the MMT?
